Heather Crull is the bronze medal winner at the U17 World Wrestling Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

Crull, who will be a junior at Northeastern High School this fall, was well known locally before this week. Now she is known worldwide.

The 2023 USA national champion at 49 kilograms (109 pounds), Crull advanced to the semifinal round by defeating Nil Aktas of Turkey by technical fall (10-0) in 1:53 in her opening quarterfinal match.

Crull defeated Lucja Dorota Korcz of Poland by the score of 13-8 in her second quarterfinal match.

Crull lost to 2023 European champion Sviatlana Katenka, an individual neutral athlete, by the score of 10-1 in the semifinal match.

Crull was in complete control during the bronze medal match, defeating Lonisa Reka of Kosovo by technical fall 10-0 in 1:29.
