Connersville Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Indiana Avenue in Connersville in reference to shots fired just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2.
Upon arrival, officers’ investigation led them to the door of an apartment complex at 2145 Indiana Ave. Inside, officers located a 25-year-old male, Troy York, who was bleeding from two gunshot wounds sustained on his leg, according to information provided by Public Information Officer Clint Brown.
Fayette County EMS was summoned to provide medical care and then transported York to Reid Health in Richmond for treatment.
Detective Rick Wilcox was summoned to the scene and has taken over this investigation, which is still ongoing.
Leads have been developed that CPD’s Detective Division is following up on, however, police urge anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective Rick Wilcox at (765) 825-2111.
At the time of this release, York is stable and expected to make a full recovery, Brown said.
