The Centerville tennis team repeated as sectional champions for the fourth year in a row on Friday, May 23, in matches played on the Richmond courts. In preliminary round matches earlier in the week, the Lady Bulldogs swept both Hagerstown and Seton Catholic 5-0 to reach the title match against Northeastern. The Lady Knights advanced to the title match by defeating Richmond 4-1 and Lincoln 3-2 in their preliminary round matches. 

In the championship match, the Lady Bulldogs won at every position to complete their 12th shutout of the year. For senior Kylar Marshall, it was the fourth time in her career that she has been a member of a sectional championship team.  

Centerville will now advance in the single-class state tournament to the Mount Vernon (Fortville) regional to be played on Tuesday, May 27, and Wednesday, May 28.

No. 1 singles: Makenna Hartman (C) defeated Lauren Lacey (NE) 6-0, 6-2

No. 2 singles: Kylar Marshall (C) defeated Josie Retz (NE) 6-0, 6-0 

No. 3 singles: Ellie Cox (C) defeated Kahleen Meyer (NE) 6-0, 6-0 

No. 1 doubles: Myleigh Hartman and Madi Fralick (C) defeated Olivia Null and Alyssa Sheets (NE) 6-1, 6-2

No. 2 doubles: Natalie Hemlin and Kami Johnson (C) defeated Aubrey Mainous and Alex Shank (NE) 6-2, 0-6, 6-2
