Darren Ridenour, a substitute teacher and swim coach for Centerville’s senior and junior high schools, won the second “Centerville Staff’s Got Talent” fundraising competition on Jan. 17. His performance of an original song received the most audience votes.

Second place went to Tiffany Leger, who teaches high-ability EXCEL fourth graders, for her performance of “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. Jennifer Morgan, who works in special education at Rose Hamilton Elementary, received third for “The Evolution of Dance.”

Ten acts competed for the opportunity to win $300, $200 or $100 for a student organization, and guests could place donations in containers for all 10 groups after the show.

The Drama Club raised money through ticket sales and sponsorships of the talent show to help keep its performance tickets at $5 for the public throughout the year. The club also offers a complimentary ticket to the school district’s employees.
