The Centerville girl’s Cross-Country team won the Sectional Championship Saturday for the fourth year in a row, while Northeastern won the boy’s title. The top five teams advance to the Rushville regional along with the top ten individuals, who are not members of the qualifying teams.
The Lady Bulldogs took five of the top 13 spots to easily win the girl’s title. Marissa Cates, Madelyn Green and Heather Crull from Northeastern, Gwynie Falcone from Seton Catholic, Logan Klein and Ava Moore from Hagerstown all advanced to the Regional for girls as individuals. Centerville and Richmond will both advance as teams.
Chase Cates and Logan Smith finished first and second for Northeastern and Nolen Drake finished four to help lift the Knights to the team title. Northeastern, Richmond, Hagerstown and Centerville will all advance as teams to the Rushville Regional for Boys. Luke Williams, Gavin Newton and Brody Puckett from Lincoln and Jack Martin from Seton Catholic will advance to the Regionals as individuals.
