The defending Tri-Eastern Conference champion Centerville football team continued to methodically march toward a repeat championship on Friday, Sept. 20, with a road win over the Tri High Titans. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-0 lead after one quarter and never allowed the Titans to get back in the game.

Time of possession was nearly identical for the teams but turnovers were a key factor in the outcome of the game. Centerville recovered a fumble and had three interceptions; two from sophomore Kyle Dickenson. The Bulldog defense slowed the Titan run-first offense, holding them to only 142 yards for the game.

Centerville statistics were not available.

Next up for the Bulldogs will be the long anticipated showdown on Friday, Sept. 27, with Northeastern in a game to be played in Fountain City. Both teams will enter the game unbeaten and state ranked in the 2A poll.
