The Centerville boys basketball team traveled to Lawrenceburg on Friday, Jan. 2, and Saturday, Jan. 3, to play in the Ray Furney Basketball Classic at Lawrenceburg High School. Centerville, ranked third in the 2A state poll, proved it belongs in the loaded field that included teams from all four enrollment classes. The Bulldogs finished fifth to improve their record to 9-1. Shea Hollendonner was named to the all-tournament team.

The Bulldogs dominated Lawrenceburg, never allowing the Tigers to reach double figures in any quarter and ending the game with a running clock. Jace Hollendonner scored 15 points, Shea Hollendonner scored 11 points and Kaden McCord scored 10.

The Bulldogs used a 24-point fourth quarter to keep the Blue Devils at bay. Shea Hollendonner led with 22 points, Landyn Keiser scored 14 points, Lopeman scored 12 and Jace Hollendonner added 11 points.

In a game that was as close as the score would indicate, the Bulldogs slid past Guerin Catholic to capture fifth place. Quenten Lopeman led the Bulldogs with 15 points, Ethan Vecera scored 13 points and Shea Hollendonner scored 10.
