Cambridge City Lincoln traveled east on Highway 40 on Friday, Feb. 20, to the campus of Earlham College for a nonconference game with Seton Catholic. The two teams are potential opponents in 1A Sectional No. 56, which Lincoln hosts, and both teams are trying to build momentum entering postseason play.

The Cardinals were without leading scorer Jackson Feist, who sat the game out with an injury, but Ethan Nisewonder and Gavin Killion combined to score 18 first-quarter points to propel the Cardinals to a 22-13 lead after one period. The Cardinals continued to have the hot hand, pushing their lead to as many as 14 points before settling for a 36-25 halftime lead.

The Eagles whittled away on their deficit in the third quarter, cutting it to six points entering the fourth quarter. Three times in the fourth quarter Lincoln pulled to within four points, but they could never get closer with the Cardinals eventually pulling away to a 66-57 win.

Killion led the Cardinals with 20 points, Nisewonder scored 13 points, Tyson Tremain scored 12 points and Sam Himes came off the bench to add 11 points.

Dustin Lunsford led the Eagles and all game scorers with 23 points. Braylon Buckles scored 15 points and Ben Bates added 12 points.

It was the final regular-season game for Seton Catholic. Lincoln will close out its regular season on Friday, Feb. 27, when they host the Centerville Bulldogs.
