Cambridge City Area Chamber of Commerce and Cambridge City Main Street organizations will combine into one group with a new name.

According to a joint announcement at the chamber’s April 9 annual dinner, the two groups are formally joining to coordinate future community and economic development efforts.

Their new name is Western Wayne Alliance.

According to the statement, the partnership strengthens their shared mission to support local businesses, enhance historic downtowns and advance the Western Wayne region’s long-term vitality.

They said they look forward to working together under this new banner to serve residents, businesses and partners more effectively.

Other highlights of the event included a guest speaker and presentation of the Small Town Big Heart award.

This year’s speaker was Dr. James Bertsch, a longtime history advocate. He is president of Western Wayne Heritage.

Kim Pattison, who recently retired as a nurse for Western Wayne Schools and donated a kidney to WWS colleague Trina Gulde in 2024, received the Small Town Big Heart honor for her community contributions.
