Centerville won the Richmond tennis sectional on Friday, May 17, defeating Northeastern 3-2 in a hard-fought match. The Bulldogs won at No. 2 singles, No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.
The Bulldogs advanced as a team to the Mount Vernon (Fortville) regional.
Northeastern has been eliminated from postseason play as a team, but Lauren Lacey at No. 1 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Chaia Gardner and Ella Coddington qualified for the individual state tournament with the sectional round to be played concurrently with the team tennis regional.
