The remaining member schools in the Tri-Eastern Conference have reached an agreement with Centerville and Northeastern that will allow them to leave the TEC at the end of the 2025-26 school year to join the newly formed Eastern Crossroads Conference a year sooner than originally planned.
The original plan was for Centerville and Northeastern to remain TEC members through the 2026-2027 school year. The agreement will allow the schools in both leagues to begin rescheduling games slated for the 2026-27 school year.
Centerville Athletic Director Clay Bolser issued the following press release on Monday, Nov. 24.
“Centerville High School and Northeastern High School have announced that they will be joining the newly formed Eastern Crossroads Conference (ECC) effective at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year. Both schools greatly value the long-standing relationships built within the Tri-Eastern Conference (TEC) and appreciate the cooperation, professionalism and support shown by the remaining TEC member schools and their athletic directors throughout this transition. Beginning in the fall of 2026, Centerville and Northeastern will become full members of the ECC alongside Eastern Hancock, Shenandoah, New Castle and Lapel. Delta High School is scheduled to become a full conference member for the 2027–2028 school year, completing the league’s inaugural lineup. The schools look forward to new competitive opportunities, strengthened regional partnerships and a shared commitment to elevating student-athletes’ experiences through the Eastern Crossroads Conference.”
