The Lady Bulldogs overpowered the visiting Lady Blackhawks 12-4 in their April 6 season opener, the first game with coach Scott Gray. Centerville took a 4-0 lead in their first at bat and never trailed.
Freshman Steffee Paisley hit two home runs, driving in four runs, and sophomore Hannah Beaman also swatted two home runs and drove in four runs for Centerville. As a team, Centerville collected 13 hits.
Paisey was also the winning pitcher, combining with Shelby Life to hold Cowan to six hits.
