On Jan. 11, 2023, newly appointed Centerville interim head coach Brian Keiser took his team to Connersville for his debut at the helm. The Spartans defense overwhelmed the Bulldogs in a 55-19 loss. In postgame remarks, Keiser declined to offer excuses but instead promised that his team would work to improve.
The Bulldogs defeated the Spartans by 50-43 in a rematch last season at Centerville. On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Bulldogs returned to the Spartan Bowl and, after building a 25-10 halftime lead, went on to defeat the Spartans by the same score as last year: 50-43.
The Bulldog defense limited Connersville to only five points in each of the first two quarters.
Landyn Keiser led the Bulldogs with 17 points and Jace Hollendonner scored 10 points. Jaden Peterson led the Spartans with a game high 21 points and Maddox Rees scored 11 points.
