A Circleville, Ohio, company will provide Richmond Power & Light with a new 48-foot bucket truck.

RP&L’s board, which is composed of Richmond Common Council members, awarded the bid to Utility Truck Equipment during a July 6 meeting. The truck will cost $220,800 with a Feb. 19, 2027, estimated delivery date.

RP&L General Manager Tony Foster noted that Utility supplied the lower base bid, provided more trade value for a 2015 bucket truck and promised quicker delivery than a bid from Altec Industries. The line department’s substation division will use the bucket truck.

The board also granted Foster permission to seek bids for an all-terrain track loader and trailer.
