Wayne County seniors pursuing a two- or four-year degree may apply for a new scholarship named after late Richmond Police Department K-9 Officer Seara Burton.
Applications must be postmarked by April 5.
The Seara Burton FOP Auxiliary #63 established the scholarship from proceeds of the 140 Challenge fitness event it hosted in 2023.
Committee members aim to touch many lives to carry on Burton’s legacy while remembering her commitment to public service and self-improvement.
Scholarships are one-time awards of varying amounts. Applicants must include two recommendation letters and an official transcript as part of their submission.
