Marcella Hollingsworth, age 98, of Lynn, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Born on September 16, 1923, to Arthur Floyd Oler and Hilda Juanita Oberander Oler, she graduated from Lynn High School in 1941. She married Charles Elvin Hollingsworth on June 8, 1941, and they farmed together and celebrated 74 years of marriage.
Marcella worked at Lynn Insurance Agency and retired in 1988; she and Charles spent 25 winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL. They enjoyed working their entire lives and were featured in the Fort Myers Beach Bulletin as the oldest working couple on the beach working at Kilwin’s. She was a member of the Lynn Friends Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her 3 children, JoAnn (Bob) Curry of Winchester, IN, Peggy (Dale) Moore of Lynn, IN, and Tom (Sue) Hollingsworth of Anacortes, WA; her 9 grandchildren, Steve (Debra) Sauser, David (Mara) Sauser, Kimberly (Lonnie) Cummings, Chad (Tammie) Moore, Amy Moore, Karla (Michael) Reed, Nicki (Chris) Chambers, Laurel (Mark) Bryant, and Lesley (Brandon) White; her 22 great-grandchildren; her 9 great-great grandchildren; a brother, John (Jane) Oler; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, their daughter Linda Kay in 1944, her son-in-law Charles (Chuck) Sauser in 1981; her husband Charles in 2015; two brothers; and three sisters. Special thanks to the staff at the Winchester assisted living facility, at Summers Pointe, for their loving care while Marcella was a resident.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember Marcella at the Lynn Friends Church, 311 S. Main Street, Lynn, IN on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m., with Tom Hollingsworth and Matt Windham officiating.
