Mary Ann Kempe, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, died after a brief illness on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by loved ones.
Born April 12, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to William and Helen Maj Goralski, Mary Ann had lived in Richmond since 1974. She retired from Richmond Community Schools and had also served as a volunteer at Reid Health.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynn (Brian) Hardman of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Deborah Kempe (Dan Parel) of Oceanside, California; sons, Mark Kempe of Ruskin, Florida, and Steven Kempe of Greenwood, Indiana; grandchildren, Sara Hardman, Erin Hardman, Sidney Parel, Ryan Parel, Jason Kempe, Ben Kempe, and Jack Kempe; and significant other of 28 years, Richard Pugh of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Kempe, on October 28, 1991; parents; and grandson, Kyle Kempe.
Honoring Mary Ann’s wishes, there will be no services. A family gathering to honor her will be held at a later date.
