Obituaries - Brenda Capps Crane Koons

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Brenda Capps Crane Koons, age 65, of Centerville, died after a long battle with Huntington’s disease Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Rosebud Village surrounded by her family and friends.
Born March 13, 1951, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to James and Sue Whisman Capps, Brenda lived in this area for most of her life. She worked at Nettle Creek Industries. Brenda enjoyed camping, boating, being outside, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Koons, to whom she was married in 1997; daughter, Melissa Nester of Richmond, Indiana; son, Jerod (Tara) Crane of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Justin Shurte, Tyler Nester, and Jadyn, Arabella, and Madison Crane; sisters, Emily (Scott) Gibson and Connie Marks, both of Richmond, Indiana; brother, Larry (Karen) Capps of Liberty, Indiana; nieces; nephews; other extended family; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Eddie Capps and Darrell Capps.
Visitation for Brenda Capps Crane Koons was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016, at Mills Funeral Home, with Pastor Rodney Shelley officiating. Burial was at the convenience of the family in Goshen Cemetery.
