It is with great sadness that the family of Jack C. Thalls, 83, announce his passing on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Reid Health, Richmond, following a brief illness.
Jack will lovingly be remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jeff and Mary Thalls; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces, great nephews; and, great-great nieces and nephews.
Born April 4, 1939 to Lewis “Jackie” and Edna Mae (Ratliff) Thalls, Jack lived his entire life in the Hagerstown area. He retired, after 30 years of service, from Perfect Circle/Dana. He loved to help people and was guided to service with the Army Reserves; was Captain of the Hagerstown Volunteer Fire Department with over 33 years of service; was a certified EMT with Culberson Ambulance Service; and, comforted many families during his tenure at Culberson Funeral Home. Many of his days Jack spent fishing or hunting, his favorite past-time hobbies.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his loving and feisty wife of 50 years Mary Beth (Johnson) Thalls; siblings Betty, Beverly, Patty, Nichole, Jerry, Jody and Dee; and, a special nephew Rick Little.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 7, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastor Paul Gearhardt will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, June 6, at Culberson Funeral Home.
