Born August 14, 1949, in Berea, Kentucky, to Robert and Irene Abney Abner, Mary lived most of her life in Wayne County, Indiana. She retired in 2015 as the activity director of Ambassador Healthcare where she took pride in her work. Mary was an active member of the community. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making Christmas candy, crafting, gardening, and attending yard sales, bingo, and auctions. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, James Eversole, to whom she was married in 1967; children, James Duane (Sara) Eversole of Milton, Indiana, Vadisa (Neal) Strunk of Brownsville, Indiana, Stacy (Ronnie) Baker of Connersville, Indiana, and Chad (Faith) Eversole of Lakeland, Florida; 9 grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Oscar (Rhonda) Abner, Andy Abner, Lisa (Tommy) White, Terry Abner, Rodney Abner, Casey Abner, Steven (Julie) Lakes, and Jimmy Abner; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Derinda Webster; parents; sisters, Charlotte Abner and Jeanette Lakes; brothers, Michael and Robert Abner.
Visitation for Mary Ann Eversole will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. May 3, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with her nephew, Pastor Robert Charles Abner, officiating.
