Hazel Gabbard, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born June 2, 1929, in McKee, Kentucky, to John P. and Sarah B. Lakes Isaacs, Hazel was a resident of Richmond most of her life. She was employed by Philips Recording Company, Inc. for 25 years. Hazel was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, quilting, and tending to her flowers. Hazel was a mother figure to many and found joy in caring for her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (Danny) Kellum of Tyler, Texas, and Dianne (Bill) Seamans of Richmond; sons, Doyle and Douglas Gabbard, both of Richmond; grandsons, Mike and Mitch Gabbard, both of Richmond; great-grandsons, Tyler and Brydon Gabbard, both of Fishers, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clifton Gabbard, who died on July 21, 2005; daughter, Darlene Gabbard, who died on November 23, 1988; sisters, Opal Gossage, Anna Mae Harrison, and Sylvia Collins; and brothers, Arlin, Dellas, and Berlin Isaacs.
Private services will be held at a later date for Hazel Gabbard. Arrangements are being handled by Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
