Lois Ann Pope Stults, age 93, of Richmond, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Friends Fellowship Community, where she had resided since 2005.
Born March 12, 1929, to John C. and Alta Barrett Pope of Henry County, Indiana, Lois Ann was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Mooreland High School in 1947 and married Darryl W. Stults of Fountain City, Indiana, on June 21, 1949. Lois Ann and Darryl had three children and were married until Darryl’s death on August 14, 2006.
Lois Ann enrolled at Ball State University in the Fall of 1960 and went on to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. In July of 1964, she had a near fatal automobile accident, but was able to begin her first year of teaching in November of that same year at Williamsburg Elementary School.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, The Wayne County Retired Teachers Association, The Gideons International Auxiliary, and Winnebago International Travelers Club.
Among her many talents, Lois Ann was an accomplished seamstress and excellent cook, but her favorite activities always included family. Her greatest sorrow was the loss of her youngest son, Gary Wayne, in 1974. Her greatest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Delynn (Diana) Stults and Linda Szafranski; grandchildren, Daniel (Nicole) Stults, Dana (Josh) Shelley, Timothy Szafranski, Dee Ann (Cliff) Bragg, Darla (Brian) Peters, and Amy Szafranski Neri; and great-grandchildren, Madeline and Hudson Stults, Landyn Neri, Clara Peters, Finnian Bragg, Wendy Peters, Noble Shelley, Stella Neri, Ronan Bragg, and Merit Shelley.
