David “Doc” Gene O’Conner, Jr., age 52, passed away at Reid Health on March 15, 2022. He was born July 22, 1969, the son of David O’Conner Sr. and Wilma O’Conner.
David was born in Richmond, Indiana, and had lived here his whole life. He never met a stranger and was liked by anyone who crossed his journey in life. Doc as everyone knew him, had the biggest heart and always willing to help anyone that needed him. He was loved and will be missed tremendously.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother: Wilma O’Conner; one sister: Laura (James) Smith; two brothers: Greg (Brandi) O’Conner and Duane O’Conner (Nick Holland); two nieces: Corissa O’Conner and Hailey O’Conner; two nephews: James (Crystal) Smith and Bradyn O’Conner; great niece: Aniyah O’Conner; great nephew: to be born in May; brother-in-law: James Smith; and a host of aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends. He also leaves a special aunt: Margie Jones; special friends: Adam and Melia Gossett; and many Northside friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: David G. O’Conner, Sr.; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; and a special great great aunt: Mary Treep.
The family gives special thanks to all the family and friends for their support.
Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may visit the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
