William Joseph “Bill” Kaiser, 75, Straughn, passed away early Monday morning, March 7th, 2022, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Bill was born in Great Bend, Kansas, on July 17th, 1946. Formerly of Richmond, Bill made his home in rural Straughn for the past 15 years. Bill served his country with honor in the United States Army during Vietnam War. Bill had worked for Elder-Beerman as a Receiving Manager in Richmond and as a Delivery Driver in Dayton, Ohio. Bill retired five years ago from Richmond Recycling Center where he worked as a truck driver. Bill also worked for Russell Batson with his farming operation. In his leisure, Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan. Bill attended the former Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Bill is survived by two children, Andrea, and Greg Kaiser; two siblings, Lawrence (Linda) Kaiser Jr. and Richard (Sue) Kaiser; two stepsisters, Peggy Miller-Lowe, and Brenda (Phil) Miller-Ford; brother-in-law, George (Donna) Stant; one step-sister-in-law, Helen Miller.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, former Barbara Anne Stant on May 30th, 2008. They were married at the New Lisbon Christian Church on August 2nd, 1969; father, Lawrence Kaiser; stepmother, Beulah Miller-Kaiser; mother, Luenda (Rugen) Kaiser; stepbrother, Butch Miller; step-brother-in-law, Stan Lowe; father and mother-in-law, Robert T., and Virginia Ruth (Fretz) Stant.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7 p.m. at Marshall and Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Rev. Arthur Whitaker will be officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial with military honors will be at Ebenezer Cemetery.
