Ella Virginia (Midge) Rogers passed away on February 15, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born December 29, 1930, in Richmond to Cecil and Velma (Baker) Pullen and lived in the Richmond/Centerville area her entire life.
She worked at the Indianapolis Glove factory for 20 years before taking a job a the Wayne Works where she retired from. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Skipbo and in her earlier years, she enjoyed dancing at the Moose and Eagles where she was a member for many years.
She was a loving mother to her daughter Patricia (Jeanie) Ollis of Richmond and her son Joseph (Dodie) (Naomi) Vance of Fountain City. Beloved “Big Gmaw” as she was affectionately referred to by her grandchildren Veronica Ollis of Cambridge City, Billy (Becca) Vance of Centerville, Bobby Vance of Richmond, Danny (Nelvie) Ollis of Okinawa, and Chad Rogers, her great-grandchildren Dylan Potter of Cambridge City, Alexis Harmon of Bloomington, Nigel, Isaac and Livie Vance of Centerville, Bradyn Williams and Brinley Vance of Richmond, her great-great-grandson Carson Potter of Cambridge City, and several nieces and nephews.
Ella is preceded in death by her husband Howard Rogers, her ex-husband Floyd Wright who helped raise her three children, one son Cecil “Paul” Vance, granddaughter Valerie Rogers her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Ambassador healthcare for all the care they did for Ella and all the love they showed her. It sure helped us knowing she was taken care of by them.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 21, 2022, at Stegall-Berhiede-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Logan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
