HAGERSTOWN:
Helen Rosaleen Wieseke, 93, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Henry Community Health hospital. She had resided for the last 2 years at Senior Living at Forest Ridge, in New Castle, where she made many new friends.
Helen was born in Rush County on March 13, 1925 to William and Charity (Hoy) McKee. She graduated from New Salem High School in 1943 and attended business school in Indianapolis. On February 5, 1944 she married her high school sweetheart, William T. Wieseke.
She worked at Perfect Circle / Dana Corp in Hagerstown for many years, where she became a member of the “Singing Secretaries”. After retiring from Dana Corp, she went to work full time at the family business, Nettle Creek Color Systems, until its closing in 2014.
Helen was an avid golfer and member of Hartley Hills Country Club until she was 89 years old. She also loved making candy for the family at Christmas and enjoyed crocheting and making ceramics. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Helen was a member of Congregational Christian Church, UCC in Hagerstown and an over 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include 3 children, Michael Wieseke (Ann), Stephen Wieseke (Carolyn) and Linda Root (John); 7 grandchildren, Darin Briar (Carrie), Richard Briar (Kara), Anthony Briar (Livia), Ian Wieseke (Brooke), Trevor Wieseke (Eleanor), Julie Tobias (Alfredo) and Brian Wieseke (Catie); several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years; 4 siblings, 3 year old William Lowell McKee, Donald McKee, Katherine Gerlandine McKee and Lawrence McKee; her 2 month old grandson, Kevin Wieseke.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday, February 8, at Congregational Christian Church, UCC. Services will follow at 1 PM. Pastor Rick Alvey will officiate. Burial will be in Brick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Helen’s name, to Congregational Christian Church or to your favorite charity.
