LEWISVILLE – Jack Cook, 67, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning January 7, 2019. A son of the late Berthel and Beulah (Butler) Cook, Jack was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on October 9, 1951.
Formerly of Knightstown, Jack and his family have made their home in Lewisville since 1985. Jack retired from the Maintenance Department at the Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home where he worked in the steam plant. He enjoyed carpentry and was an all around “handy man.” In his leisure, Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. He was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church in Spiceland.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Bernida Logan, whom he married in Knightstown on March 31, 1972; two sons, Duane Cook of New Castle and Brady (wife, Mandy) Cook of Dunreith; two brothers, Ted (Bernice) Cook of Dunreith and Stanley Cook of Richmond; one sister, Lorene (Bob) Hamilton of New Castle.
Jack was preceded in death by one brother, Berthel Lee Cook; two sisters, Tottie Richmond and Mavis Ingles; two infant siblings.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday January 11, 2019, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. The Rev. Larry Delon will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 10th.
