Dorothy Ann “Dot” DeGuira, age 93, of Cambridge City, Indiana, died Friday, October 15, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.
Born February 11, 1928, in Richmond, Indiana, to Bernard and Harriett Thomas Kohnle, Dot lived in Wayne County, Indiana, most of her life. She retired from Richmond Community Schools, where she worked as a cook. Dot also served as a cook for the Girl Scouts camp. She enjoyed bowling and creating ceramics.
Survivors include her children, Melissa Wysong of Cambridge City, Paul Thomas (Sandy) DeGuira of Oklahoma, and Danny Francis DeGuira, Michael (Elaine) DeGuira, and William B. (Patricia) DeGuira, all of Nashville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bernice McNalley; brother, Thomas A. Kohnle; son-in-law, Richard Wysong; and special friend, Barbara Allen.
Visitation for Dorothy Ann “Dot” DeGuira will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
