Benjamin A. “Ben” Grewe, 77, of Cambridge City passed away on Dec. 1, 2018, at Reid Health in Richmond, Ind.
He was born on August 8, 1941, in West City, Ill., the son of Arthur and Mary (Horn) Grewe and was a 1959 graduate of Connersville High School. He attended Lane Technical Institute in Indianapolis.
He worked for Perfect Circle in Hagerstown and retired in 1996 after 30 years. After retirement, he and his wife Bonnie owned and operated Memories Hallmark from 1994 until 2008.
In 2005, he took over Western Wayne Food Pantry for Cambridge City Christian Church. At the church he served as song leader, Sunday school teacher, deacon, trustee and 2 terms as treasurer. He was a past member of the Richmond Railroaders Club and co-founded Western Wayne Railroaders Club with Ken Bertsch.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Danny Berry officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5 until 7 p.m.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie J. (Craig) Grewe; daughter Kara (Edward) Moretto and son Tim Grewe; 1 granddaughter Amanda Moretto Rech (husband Hamilton); an aunt, Lucille Grewe; and several cousins.
