Erin Renee McDugle, age 38, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 13th, 2021, at her home.
She was born July 7th, 1983, at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marc McDugle (2008) and Pam McDugle (2005). She is survived by her brother, Marc McDugle II, her niece Izabella McDugle and her nephew Marc McDugle III, both Grandmothers, Step-Mother, and siblings, many aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Erin attended Goshen College from 2001 – 2005, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology. She also played for the women’s basketball team, where she dominated the court. While adding to the record books throughout her career, her highest seasonal achievement was during 2003 – 2004, becoming Goshen College Women’s all-time points scorer with 705, which still stands today. In addition, she remains the #1 career scorer of all time, with 1776 points.
After an illustrious basketball career, Erin’s absolute love for people was demonstrated by the positions she sought after, working for various mental and social health organizations utilizing the knowledge she obtained while in Goshen College. Staying true to her commitment to supporting others, she decided to return to school and further her skill set by enrolling in the Ivy Tech Nursing program to become a registered nurse. Her dedication to assisting people to become healthy was unwavering.
Community Family Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements. Visitation will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 23rd, with a celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 24th. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate any money to their local community-based outreach organization.
