CAMBRIDGE CITY- Ruth Ann Bragg, 80, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 10, 2018, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
A daughter of the late Paul W. Price and Beulah K. (Johnson) Isom, Ruth was born at home in Cambridge City, Indiana on September 23, 1938. She has lived most of her life in the Cambridge City community and at her current home for the past 47 years.
Ruth was a cook at K & J Restaurant for many years and retired from M.E.G. where she worked in assembly.
Ruth was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169. She was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed puzzle books, all animals and visiting friends. There was not an animal or person in need that she would not help.
Survivors include 6 daughters, Patsy Struewing, Carlene Gilpin and Jeanene (Steve Jordan) Hensley all of Cambridge City, Sheryl Sheehy of Hagerstown, Dana (Dave) Whicker of Indianapolis and Monica Bailey of Losantville; a nephew whom she raised, Dewey Isom Jr.; 16 grandchildren, Rachae (Scott) Cornett, Travis (Brittany Brumfield) Gabbard, Jasper (Amanda) Hensley, Ashley Bragg, Tisha (Tyler) Whisler, Kyle (Desiree) Gilpin, Kevin (Mercedes) Gilpin, Stacie (Justin) Surber, Kara Struewing, Brittney Bailey, Scotty Sheehy, Coty Bailey, Kiersten (Anthony Faddis) Bailey, Anthony Sheehy, Sierra Schall and Dakota Schall; 28 great-grandchildren and twins on the way; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Ray (Patty) and Walter Isom of Florida and Brenda (Frank) Massman of Missouri; lifelong friend, Luella Willis of Illinois; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 26 years, Ernest Edwin Bragg, on June 4, 1981, whom she married in Gary, Ind., on June 11, 1955; step-father, Dewey Addison Isom; 3 brothers, infant Roger, Dewey W. Isom Sr. and Bruce Isom; 3 sons in-law, Stan Struewing, Scott Sheehy and Tony Gilpin; sister-in-law Connie Isom.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Jim Noggle will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 14.
