Richard Pollitt Sr., a 49-year volunteer firefighter, has been selected as interim chief for the Milton-Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department.
His selection was announced Monday at a meeting organized by Milton town board and Washington Township officials to explain upcoming changes to the fire department as it reorganizes.
At that time, the Milton town board also gave approval for the fire department auxiliary to conduct a boot drive Nov. 3 to raise money for groceries to be purchased for meals that will be served or delivered from its Nov. 10 bazaar that the council also voted to allow to continue. Funds from the bazaar are to be used for sponsoring local families at the holidays.
