Mona Mae Malott Curnutt, age 85, passed away at home on Saturday, July 24, 2021. She was born March 13, 1936, a daughter of Richard and Myrtle Smith Malott.
Mona attended New Castle High School. She had worked in manufacturing at Cumfy Togs and Huntington Industries in New Castle, and Precision Wire in Hagerstown, Indiana. She also participated at the Wilbur Wright Museum. In addition, she was a homemaker and supported her husband’s career of 30 years with the Army and National Guard. After her retirement, Mona enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Mona is survived by her children, Terri Curnutt, Trenna Bertram, and Joseph Curnutt, all of New Castle, Indiana; two sisters, Myra Malott Chissel, Gail (husband, Butch) Malott Privett; one brother, Gerald (wife, Pat) Malott; five grandchildren, Amber Bertram (husband, Darren) Block of Fishers, Indiana, Devon Bertram of New Castle, Indiana, Chelsey Curnutt of Muncie, Indiana, Kaitlyn and Isaiah Curnutt of New Castle, Indiana;one step-granddaughter, Heaven Block; two great-grandchildren, Kayden Wilson of Fishers, Indiana and Adrianna Bowers of Spiceland, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Russell Curnutt; a brother, Donald Malott, and a grandson, Chad Bowers.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle, Indiana. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Green Hills Memory Garden at a later date.
