Patricia A. Aten, 94, of Richmond, passed away June 16, 2021, at The Springs of Richmond after a long illness. She was born February 4, 1927, at Monticello, KY to Peter and Indie Belle (Davis) Simpson.

Pat, as she was better known, lived in Richmond most of her life. She enjoyed being around family and friends. She retired from AVCO where she worked on the assembly line. Pat was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Pat also was a member of the American Legion Post 65, Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of St. John, and Masonic Widows.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Patricia Sue (Charles) Redman of Centerville, and her son, Douglas (Mary) Amsler of Richmond. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, Chuck (Wendy) Norman of South Dakota, Joe (Cindy) Norman of South Carolina, Michelle Norman-Smith of Richmond, Dustin Amsler of Indianapolis, Marcie (Ronnie) McCall of Richmond; 7 Great-Grandchildren, Ally, Mackenzie, Michael, Hailey, Tracie. Max and Aubrie; 10 Great-Great Grandchildren; sisters, Anna Lackey of Richmond and Wanda (Norman) Brooks of Richmond and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1996; granddaughter, Lisa Norman Weiser; sisters, Dorothy Ragan, Eugenia Simpson, Shirley Fountain, Joda Moore; brothers, Ray, Denver, Drexel, Reed, and Bob Simpson.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at The Springs for the love and care they gave to Patricia.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
