Judson J. Costlow, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, left this world into eternity on Sunday, April 25, 2021, while doing what he loved.
Jud was born January 31, 1943, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Neal and Eleanor Moore Costlow. He attended Kirklin Schools, graduating from Clinton Central High School in 1961. Jud then went to Indiana University and graduated with a Master of Education in 1967. In 1978, Jud moved to Kirklin, Indiana, and was president of Moore-Costlow, Inc. Feed and Grain Elevator, where he worked for 10 years. In 1980, Jud accepted a position as vice president and trust officer with Farmer’s Bank in Frankfort for 20 years. In 2000, he accepted a position with US Bank in Richmond as vice president and trust officer, retiring in 2007. Jud was a social and active man, who was deeply involved for the majority of his life. He served as president of the Centerville Lion’s Club, the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, and the Frankfort Rotary Club. Jud was a Golden K Kiwanis club member and symposiarch. He enjoyed flying his airplane, fishing, hiking, and camping.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Lisa Gary Costlow; children, David (Nancy) Costlow of Arizona and Ellen Costlow of West Virginia; stepchildren, Leah (Justin) Suhre of Evansville, Indiana, and Gary (Katie) Nelson of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren, Owen and Kaylee Costlow and Tommy and Summer Ballock; step-grandchildren, Clayton, Jensyn, and Dawson Suhre and Mason, Ava, and Holden Nelson; brothers, Ron (Sharon) Costlow and Alan Costlow, both of Fishers and Dan (Diane) Costlow of Michigan; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Smith Costlow, who died in March 2000; father, who died in October 1979; and mother, Eleanor Costlow Reed, who died in April 2012.
Memorial visitation for Judson J. Costlow will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. James Spon officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask in the funeral home. A private burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, at a later date.
