Carmen Lena Sourbeer, 87, of Pershing passed away Friday, April 16th at her residence. She was born on September 14, 1933 in Malta to John and Antonia (nee Camilleri) Spiteri. Lena lived most of her life in Wayne County.
Lena was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and had worked at several restaurants for many years because she enjoyed people. She was an avid bowler and loved shopping,dancing, playing piano and spending time at her pool.
Survivors are her sons Jim (Mary) and Jeff (Dawn) Sourbeer; grandchildren Dustin, Krystal, Ashley, Kanasta, Braelyn, Aaron, Allason and Katie; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Carl Sourbeer, son John Sourbeer; grandson Leif Sourbeer; great-granddaughter Isabelle Ann Gaddis and brother Emanuuel Spiteri.
Friends may gather at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel from 11:00 am until start of services at 1:00 pm with Father John Luerman officiating, Burial will follow in Zion’s Cemetery in Pershing.
