Judith Carole (Clark) Scott, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
She was born on January 5, 1945 to Everett “Shorty” and Nancy Clark. Judy graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1964 and retired from Dana Corp. in 1996, following 32 years of service.
Judy was an avid karate enthusiast during the sixties, and received the honor of runner-up at the 1996 Women’s National Karate Championship, held in Washington DC.
She received her degree of Associates in Applied Science in Computer Information Systems, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1998, from Ivy Tech State College. She earned a certificate of Achievement as a dBase and Computer Network Specialist and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society. During her college years, Judy also earned the honors of Ivy Tech Dean’s List, National Dean’s List and Who’s Who in Junior Colleges.
She was a substitute teacher for Wayne and Henry County Community School Corporations and was a foster parent for Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth of Indiana (SAFY) out of Delaware County.
Her club memberships include: Dana 25 Year Club, UAW Retirees, F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary, National Rifle Association, and life member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies were crocheting afghans to give as presents to her friends and working in her yard and flower garden.
Judy was caregiver to her mother since 2009 and enjoyed every minute with Nancy until her journey to Heaven in 2016.
Judy leaves behind her “Light of Life”, daughter Shannon Michelle Brown (Dale Carl II); her “Pride and Joy” grandsons, Dale Carl Brown III “Tre”, Dakota Casper “Cody”, and DJ Coulton, all of Batesville, AR.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a loving sister-in-law, Phyllis Ann Clark.
Per Judy’s wishes, private graveside services were conducted in Greens Fork South Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Her eulogy was read by son-in-law, Dale Brown II.
