Patricia Elaine Dillingham Potter, or lovingly called Pat, was born on June 22, 1937 in Connersville, Indiana to Mr. Alan (TD) Hugh Dillingham and Mrs. Ailean Easley Dillingham. Pat was the youngest of two daughters born to TD and Ailean.
Pat has always been a faithful Christian. At an early age she was baptized at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Connersville, Indiana where her family worshiped. She became a lifetime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana when she moved to Richmond and married in 1955. During her years at Mount Olive Pat served on the Inez Fields Missionary team where she helped to prepare and serve meals to the community every week. Pat was also a faithful member of the Mount Olive Adult Choir where she at one time she held the office of President for several years. You could hear her sweet alto voice singing “Jesus Be a Fence All Around Me.” She also served on the Benevolence Mission for the church.
Pat worked diligently over the years to support the family business, Potter and Son’s Construction Company; where she was bookkeeper, financial advisor, and project scheduler for the company. She also worked for almost 30 years at Ayr Way (Target) as the customer service manager until she retired.
Mrs. Pat Potter departed this life on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Floyd (Jennifra) Potter and Mike (Darlene) Potter. Pastor Derek (Donna) White, who she also considered a son. A sister, Barbara Ann Hall. Grandchildren: Andrea VanMeter, Jason Potter, Micah Potter, Malia Potter, Michael Potter II, Christopher (Beth) Ogle, Bryan Ogle, Trenton Ogle and two adopted grans Sangrail James and Daniel Gilreath. 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Her dedicated and faithful friend Debbie Byrd. A host of nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her father TD Dillingham, mother Ailean Dillingham, daughter Teresa Aileen Ogle, great grandson Emilio Alexander McKee, cherished cousin Vera Ellis and her sister in Christ Arlera Cook.
