Rhea Maryam Ryan age 99 passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, peacefully with family at her side at Friends Fellowship Community where she had lived for the past two years. She was proceeded in death by her husband Harold Ryan, parents, sister Phyllis Peterson and brother LeRoy Clopp, and Niece Pam Hounshell.

Born May 15, 1921, in Richmond Indiana to Cecil Clopp and Nina Faye Blose-Clopp. Her childhood was spent on the family farm in Fountain City before moving to Richmond Indiana. She was a 1939 Graduate of Fountain City High School and attended business college following graduation.

Her first job was with Lincoln-Kaler Tobacco before starting at Second National Bank in the Proof Department. When she retired in 1982 she was Vice President of the Trust Department. She was past president of ABWA (American Businesswomen’s Association). During her career, she was presented with The Woman of the year award.

She loved to travel and enjoyed the following. Barbershop Quartet singing and competition, Cross Stitch, Knitting, Quilting, and various other crafts.

Survivors include Nieces Dayle Ann Loudy, Suzy Clopp, Valerie Clopp,  Nephew Dennis (Becky) Clopp. Great nieces and nephews Ryan Clopp, Chris (Nikki) Clopp, Kathy Springer, Kristy Lee, Kevin Hounshell., Cherie Loudy, Amie Weatherly, Josh Loudy Sr. And several great-great niece’s and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Friends Fellowship Community who took excellent care of her during her stay with them.
