Betty Rose Clements, age 96, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, November 27, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born December 31, 1923, in Richmond, Indiana, to Orva E. and Lillian A. Turnipseed Harter, Betty was a life-long resident of this community. She retired from Quality Tool & Gauge, where she served as the secretary and treasurer for 25 years. Betty previously worked at International Harvester Co. for 10 years and as a secretary at Crosley Corporation for three years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Betty was also a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority, Eastern Star, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and Elks Lodge #649. She enjoyed playing bridge and was very active with her bridge clubs. Betty also loved playing golf and traveling, especially to Longboat Key and Bradenton Beach, Florida. She was very involved with her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them, including playing cards and various board games. Betty was always willing to help others in any way that she could and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her sons, James Thomas (Sandy) Clements and Bill Allen Clements, both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Vince (Kari) Clements of Englewood, Ohio, Derek (fiancée, Rubie Mackie) Clements of Chicago, Illinois, Dylan Clements of Denver, Colorado, and David (fiancée, Katie Davis) Clements and Lauren (boyfriend, Dylan Byerlines) Clements, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Liam and Norah Clements; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 52 years, James D. Clements, who died May 2, 2000; parents; and sisters, Joan Dull and Eva Jean Smith.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we regret to inform you that services for Betty Rose Clements will be private with Pastor Joseph Seger officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
