Essie Faye Vincent, 93, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning October 29, 2020 at Henry Community Health.
She was born July 21, 1927 in Lebanon, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Alan and Bessie (Bennington) Lynch.
Essie was a 1946 graduate of New Castle High School and on August 29, 1946 she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Rual Vincent. In the early 60’s she worked at the Top Hat Drive-In and then for many years worked at Montgomery Ward Catalog Center, and then the New Castle Lanes Lower Level Lounge. She was a long-time member of the Park Place Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling on several leagues and was a member of Henry County Bowling Association. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and most of all having her family over, playing games, and laughing.
Those left to cherish Essie’s memory include her three children, Monte (wife: Judi) Vincent of Terre Haute, Myra (husband: Paul) Burk of Poplar Grove, IL, and Marla (husband: Bill) Vaughn of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Jay (Mindy) Vincent, Shad Vincent, Shannon (Bill) Wilkinson, Lucas (Reba) Vaughn, Cailin (Garrett) Leber, Paul (Melissa) Burk, and Isaiah Burk; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley (Collin) Goodin, Dusty Vincent, Brendan, Marc, Isaac, and Samuel Wilkinson, and Gage Burk; two great-great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Mason Goodin, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Rual Vincent; brothers, Sandy and Raymond Lynch and a sister, Zelma Hardin and an infant brother, Bennington.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 2, 2020, at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
