Mary Kay Lacy, 82, a longtime resident of Spiceland, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 3, 1938 in New Castle, the daughter of Roscoe and Pervia (Zimmerman) Davis.

Mary Kay was a high school graduate of Mays High School and a lifelong member of Center Christian Church. Growing up she participated in 4-H and then helped her children in 4-H. She was a member of the Spiceland Dulcimer Club. Family was very important to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, who enjoyed staying in touch with extended family as well as travelling all over the United States with her sister, Barbara. Mary Kay was always pleasant, with kind words for everyone, and had a great sense of humor. She loved children, reading, and working outside in her garden, growing flowers and raspberries.

She is survived by children, Rick, (Pam) Lacy of Indianapolis, Anne (Frank) DeMore of Indianapolis and Stephen (Jamilee) Lacy of Providence, RI; grandchildren, Olivia Morris (Alex) of Anderson, Evan Lacy of Indianapolis and Elizabeth DeMore of Indianapolis; sister Barbara Smith of Franklin and 20 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Lacy; siblings, Philip Davis, Carolyn Adams and Francis Marlene Edington.

Due to Covid-19 and the governor’s mandate, face coverings and social distancing will be requirements for attending.

Services will be at 1:00 PM October 23, 2020 at Center Christian Church with Darryl Denney officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery.
