Serena L. Taylor, 60, of Connersville passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Reid Health, Richmond.
One of two children of William A. and Loretta Bannon Hughes, Serena was born in Connersville on March 17, 1960, and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1978.
For many years, she was employed as a cook for local restaurants including Jerry’s Pizza and Kunkel’s Drive-In.
In her leisure time, Serena enjoyed cooking, word searches, watching black and white television series like Gunsmoke and Bonanza; planning for upcoming holiday gatherings, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, William and Loretta Hughes of Connersville, survivors include three children, Natalie (Jon) Moore of Connersville, Brittany (Rocky) Fry of Rushville, and Jerald (Rachel) Taylor of Connersville; three grandchildren, Holland Moore, Harrison Fry, and Jaeden Taylor; two step-grandchildren, Madison Garrison and Landon Burch; a brother, Bill (Cate) Hughes of Connersville; and two nephews, Craig and Brandon Hughes.
Serena is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Johnnie Taylor.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Marvel will officiate. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
