Carey Wayne Young, 67, a lifelong resident of Connersville, passed away August 12, 2020 at I.U. Methodist of Indianapolis.
He was born in Connersville on September 5, 1952, one of three children of Henry Young, Jr. and Frances (Faber) Spivey.
He was employed for over ten years as a welder for C&P Engineering and Manufacturing. He was also employed for several years with the Fayette County Highway Department.
Carey was a founding member of Crosspointe Biker Church, which started in December, 2009.
He was well known as an avid fisherman in the area, and he also enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include three children, Darren Young, Carrie Ann (Will Wise) Nichols, and Ryan (Kassindra) Young, all of Connersville; ten grandchildren, Dakota Young, Dakira Young, Hallie Banks, Alyssa Manley, William Manley, Riley Austin, Wes Wise, Trevor Young, Kindra Young, and Logan Young; three great-grandchildren, Macie Taylor, Ella Banks, and Kira Manley; fiancée, Bonny Young of Connersville; a sister, Debra (Kenneth) Stevens of Seguin, Texas; an uncle, Floyd (Alene) Faber of Milton; and an aunt, Bertha Marcum of Connersville. He is also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Young, Jr., his mother, Frances (Faber) Spivey, his step-father, Roy Spivey, and a brother, Roger Young.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Crosspointe Biker Church. A funeral service will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. the same day with Pastor Chris Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
