Stephen Bryon Pierce, age 53, of Yulee, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 as the result of a traffic accident.
He was born on April 21, 1964 in New Castle, IN to Steve and Fran (Burns) Pierce.
Bryon began his fire career in Flagler Beach, FL, at the age of 16, and worked professionally with Kings Bay, GA Fire Department for two years. In 1985, he went to Nassau County Fire Rescue, rose through the ranks to Lieutenant, and had the distinction of retiring after 25 years of service in 2013. As a true servant of the community, Bryon was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Following retirement, Bryon developed a love for motorcycles. He was instrumental in establishing the motorcycle club Odin’s Council, where he enjoyed the brotherhood of fellow members.
Bryon loved the outdoors. He was an avid boater, fisherman, hiker, and hunter. In his younger years, he enjoyed swimming and surfing. Above all, Bryon loved and enjoyed his family & friends.
Surviving Bryon are his parents, Fran Gray and Steve (Carmen) Pierce, daughter Caroline Pierce and her mother, Jennifer Pierce; son Chance Pierce and his mother, Whitney Broyles; siblings Rob Pierce, Jim Cox, Brent Pierce, Brent Gray, Michelle Councellor & Stephanie Pierce: and many aunts, uncles,cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepdad, Joseph (Pop) Gray in January 2015.
