Richmond police are continuing their investigations Wednesday on an early morning stabbing and a search conducted Tuesday afternoon related to a recent homicide.
Shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, third-shift patrol officers were dispatched to Village Pantry at 1201 S. Ninth St. for a stabbing.
The stabbing victim’s name has not yet been released by Richmond Police Department.
The victim entered the store and asked for assistance before collapsing on the floor, according to Capt. Curt Leverton of RPD’s Investigative Service Division.
Stab wounds were located on the victim by medics and officers. The victim also was showing signs of overdosing and was being treated for those symptoms.
The victim was transported to Reid Health and later flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, in serious condition.
Richmond detectives were called in to the scene to process evidence.

Investigators also are processing new evidence related to an ongoing homicide investigation.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, RPD’s Investigative Services and Richmond SWAT served a search warrant at 2015 S. E St. in Richmond.
The search was prompted by the death of one teen and injury to another in a shooting on Richmond’s west side on Sunday evening.
Just after 5 p.m. May 10, second-shift patrol officers for Richmond Police Department were called to the 300 block of Lincoln Street in reference to a shooting.
Officers located two victims with gunshot wounds upon arrival.
A 17-year-old female was transported to Reid Health, where she was treated and later released.
A 17-year-old male was transported to Reid Health and was later pronounced dead.
Investigators are working with the evidence collected at the South E Street home and at Lincoln Street.
A black 2007 Volkswagen was towed Tuesday from South E Street.
No arrests have been made while the investigation continues.
