CONNERSVILLE – Steven L. Hornung, 56, passed away at his home in Connersville early Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017.
A son of David Lee and Charlene (Mercier) Hornung, Steve was born in Connersville on May 22, 1961.
He was a lifelong Connersville resident and graduate of Connersville High School with the class of 1979 where he was active in the Future Farmers of America. Following high school Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1983 with the rank of corporal. He then completed the electrical program at Ivy Tech and became a certified electrician. He was owner/operator of Total Electric and did residential/commercial electrical work in the area. Steve was a member of Warren Lodge #15 F & AM, enjoyed deer hunting and also continued a family tradition of operating a concession booth at the Fayette County Free Fair.
Survivors include his parents of Connersville; 2 siblings, Kim (Art) Carroll of Connersville and Brian (Angelique) Hornung of Salem; nieces and nephews; 1 uncle Gary and aunt Carol Hornung of Rhode Island.
Following cremation at the Eastern Indiana Crematory of Dublin, a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements where online condolences can be made anytime at www.marshallanderleweinfuneralhome.com.
