The Northeastern Lady Knights hosted Jay County in a nonconference game on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Neither team had played in 10 days and play in the early stages of the game reflected that with turnovers and fouls. The Lady Knights held a 19-15 lead at the end of the first quarter before the Lady Patriots, members of the Allen County Conference, scored the first five points of the second quarter to retake the lead. The lead changed hands several times before the teams battled to a 29-29 tie at halftime.

Jay County pushed out to a 45-37 lead late in the third quarter before the Lady Knights roared back to take an improbable 50-46 lead at the end of the third quarter.  Foul problems continued to mount for Jay County and the Knights eventually won the game 64-56.

The Lady Patriots, who had four players foul out, were led in scoring by freshman Karsyn Schwieterman with 21 points. Ady Kircher led the Knights with 16 points, Karri Gammon scored 13 points and Fiona Breitenbach added 10 points.
