Inspectors reported 21 restaurants, food trucks, schools and other providers out of compliance during recent routine inspections of local food establishments. Some were found with multiple violations.

The classification of being in or out of compliance replaces previous health department terminology of critical and noncritical violations.

Compliance is based on the number of risk factor or intervention violations, and whether there are repeated issues.

Wayne County Health Department employees collected these concerns between Aug. 5-29.

They also make visits if members of the public submit complaints.

Establishments are required to post the most recent routine inspection adjacent to the front public entrance for potential customers to view.
