The Centerville softball team hosted Lincoln on Wednesday, May 21, in a Tri-Eastern Conference game. The Lady Bulldogs won the game 8-1 in what turned out to be a record-setting night for Centerville slugger Madi Yount. Yount smacked her ninth home run of the season in the first inning to establish a new Centerville school record for homers in a season. The home run also gave Yount the outright TEC lead for home runs, breaking a tie with Allison Stinson from Hagerstown, who finished her season with eight. Yount also doubled and singled and was the winning pitcher, scattering seven hits and striking out 10.
The Lady Bulldogs scored in every inning except the second to steadily pull away.
Hannah Beaman, Lilly Day and Aubrey Seifer each had two hits for Centerville, and Day stole three bases. Lexi McPheeters and Addyson Pitcock each had two hits for Lincoln.
